Homework Policy and Grade Scale
Homework of Chinese class will not be a complicated assignment. It is the review of academic content that we have learned on that day.
This is very important to finish homework and return it to teacher on time.
Ms. Wang always provides some time at the end of class for students to start their homework.
Thus, they could ask any questions about the directions of the homework.
Unfinished homework must be taken back home, and return to Ms. Wang next class.
Homework is part of the informal assessment of CMS grading policy.
If you miss a class, please email Ms. Wang to check about the homework .

🔺Grading policy:
Teacher will finalize grades at the end of each quarter. Failing in Chinese Immersion TWICE and final grade is below 60----students may go back to their middle school in the home area for the next school year.
Bonus points: A lot of bonus points will be added to the student's work for good clean handwriting, creative sentences/content, finish earlier, advanced Chinese level vocabulary etc.
0 grade Policy : Any missing work will be marked 0 in PowerSchool and Canvas, WITH specific label, such as “absent” or “missing”.
Absent “0”: Students will NOT lose any points as long as he/she turns in the work when he/she comes back to school.
Turn in work only ≠ full score. Not following instruction, completely wrong work, copy from Google translation, etc will also make students to get a "0".
No extra work to bump up student's grade at the end of each quarter. They need to work hard in every single class.
🔺🔺 Missing/ Late work policy:
**For remote-learning:
Any late work will lose 20% of the grade. Please check Canvas for student's assignments, grades and comments.
----------------------------------------------------Below is for on-site school learning-------------------------------------------------------
In each class, I usually leave at least 10 minutes for students to work on their homework. They can start to work on it and let me know any questions immediately, and some of them can even finish it.
Homework is due next class day.
(Class day means the day that students have my Chinese immersion class. It should be either A day or B day. School day means the regular days of this school year. )
Any late work, that is turned in within the following TWO CLASS DAY, will lose 20% of the grade.
Any late work, that is turned in AFTER the “following TWO CLASS DAY” will lose 40% of the grade.
For example:
Oct.1, is a B day, Student A has a homework-- a worksheet.
Oct. 3, B day, due day of the homework. Student A does not turn it in.
If student A turns in homework on Oct, 7 or Oct.9, student A will lose 20% grade.
If student A turns in homework after Oct.9, student A will lose 40% grade.
Missing Work Due Days for all four quarters:
Q1: Sep.18 Q2: Jan.17 Q3: Mar.20 Q4: May 29
